Some minutes later we will visit the place were was placed the second River Plate stadium after leaving La Boca, the neighborhood where they were born.
Our first stop is at El Monumental in Belgrano district. There we will take a sightseeing walk around the stadium and we will see the “River Neighborhood”, the Federal Shooting Range, the access gates and Rivermanía, the official licensed products shop. Later, we will get into the stadium and we will know the history of the club, that gives the impression of being a social club instead a football one. The facilities we will see: the 10 tennis courts, training field, olympic swimming-pool and the hotel for the students and minor leagues. Inside the stadium, the coffee (the meeting point of the club), press conference room, trophys hall, presidential box, preferential seats, the volleyball and basketball micro-stadiums, educative institute and finally, the cherry of the pie: the pitch.
Once we finish the visit there, we will go to the southern neighborhoods and we will know another mytical stadium: La Bombonera. Only with a simple look to the surrounding area of the stadium we will realise that the passion for football is breathed on every street.
Inside Boca Juniors’ stadium we will visit the preferential seats, a section of the pitch, the “popular” terrace that holds the mythical “12” (the player number 12), local changing room (that dates from 1978!) and we will finish in a stand, from where we will see Diego Maradona’s Box.
After that we will visit the “Museo de la Pasión Boquense” (Boca’s Museum) and we are going to see all the players that ever played for the club, we will learn about the history and evolution of the jersey and we will go to the trophys room. We will also see a film that will make you feel in the flesh how it feels to be a Boca player when goes out to the pitch. Later we will know the story of the mentioned above “12” and we will see the jerseys of two of the most important football players in the world that ever played in that stadium.
